The colors in the hospital were vibrant and each area had a beautiful theme. This Orca and her baby were high in the sky looking down on everyone who entered the clinic at the hospital. It was so large, it had to be brought in through the ceiling.

I’ve come undone….this is why we are MiracleMoms! Thanks for such a powerful post.
Stephanie
Thanks Stephanie…I know we just begun but I have been moved so much already! I will be by to read your post later tonight. Hubby is home today so my day has been busy running errands.
very nice posts, i love them!:)
Thank you! I agree…Seattle Children’s is the best! I need to come by your blog and stop by. I have suffered from Depression for the last 3 years. I am finally feeling better but only with the help of meds. It really takes over quickly. I will be by later tonight. Thanks for stopping by!
I have a special place in my heart for kiddos in the hospital. My niece has spent alot of time in children’s hospitals and my family has tremendous respect for the people that work so hard in these facilities, and also the effort everyone goes through to try to make these places as happy as possible for these kids!
The workers I have met are amazing. As these kids and parents are going through the worst time in their life, these hospitals take over and really help them heal on their journey! How is your niece now…is she on the road to recovery? I hope so. Thanks for stopping by!
This is so touching and makes me so thankful for my healthy children, I cannot imagine what these families are going through.
I know…it has to be so hard! I have had friends lose children and they seem to be so strong. Not sure if I have the strength they do…but maybe I would find it if I need to.
I saw that video a few days ago…love it! I lived not too far from that hospital when I was little, and have heard (growing up) that it is such a great hospital!
Isn’t that video awesome Hanan? I think WA state saw the first releases of it. It was on the news over here and I am sure it made it’s way over to Spokane. I had friends (when I was a kid) spend lots of time up there. One friend’s little guy was up there too until he went to Heaven. I know they were treated exceptionally.
Thanks for stopping by and reading about Miracle Moms!
We have spent some time at Children’s and have a great appreciation for all they do there. Very inspiring post!
Thank you Jody! It sounds like your experience has been great. Dealing with children and illnesses has to be hard but SCH sure knows how to do it right! Thanks for stopping by!
This is an amazing opportunity! These hospitals do so much and need to be recognized! I live in the Cleveland, OH area and hear so many good things about our local children’s hospital: Rainbow Babies & Children. I’m glad that families who face difficult health issues have such terrific and welcoming hospitals to help in their time of need. Thanks for sharing and i’m looking forward to more posts
Hospitals that help kids are amazing to me. Doctors explain at their level, which is so important when a kid doesn’t know what is going on with them. Thanks for stopping by to read about the Miracle Mom campaign.
I love this so much, and tugs at a very special place in my heart!
My sister spent most of her life in the hospital because of her heart.
I love love LOVE this!
Thanks David! It tugged at my heart so much just walking through those halls. I know there was a reason for each child/family being there…which pulls at my heart strings! I hope your sister is doing better! A hug for you and her!
That is so sweet that you get to do this with the family. I have been raising money for my local CMNH hospitals for 14 years now and love knowing that myself and the team have made a difference in so many lives through CMNH.
I love touring my hospitals, even though I go every year I get more and more inspiration and motivation to do better and to help more. Last year my team and I raised $16,000 and this year we are well on our way to $20,000.
You are a inspiration and a blessing. I can not wait to hear more about your experience.
(I hope this makes sense)
What an inspiration you are Noel! Your fundraising is wonderful…you know how to do it well!
Touring the hospital was definitely a highlight and what a way to get excited to do something good for someone. I love doing something for others…and I am setting a great example for my kids. They have already raised $66 Seattle Children’s. They will be having more lemonade stands the next couple of weekends to earn more! Thanks for your encouragement!
Love this post, Tammy! We live about 10 minutes from Hershey Medical Center where my daughter was treated for the first 6 years of her life. Nothing anywhere near as serious as what most of these children are facing, but it gave us a great appreciation for life and a great respect for all the wonderful doctors and nurses who helped take care of her. Thanks so much for participating in this very worthwhile project!!
No one understands these wonderful services the hospitals bring to families, unless you have used them yourself. I am so glad you were fortunate to be so close to Hershey Medical Center for those 6 years. It sounds like the doctors and staff took great care of your daughter. Thanks for sharing with me Natalie!
Children’s is a wonderful place. The video was beautiful! Can’t wait to read more about your Miracle Mom experience, Tammy!
Thanks Erin! We are pretty fortunate to have Seattle Children’s so close to both of us. Knowing they are there definitely puts my mind at ease if we ever would need them. I am sure you feel the same way. I will be sure to keep you up to date on the posts yet to come!
What a great opportunity to recognize worthy hospitals and at the same time remind moms to be thankful for their healthy children!
I agree! We launched on Mother’s Day and what a perfect day to do it. Being thankful for great hospitals is a must…they take care of our kiddos when/if need be. Also, to take a minute to be thankful for the health in our kids…even on those days when we are frustrated beyond belief. Thanks for stopping by Ashley!
So inspiring. I love that they try to make the hospital as kid friendly and fun as possible.
Me too Shanna! That stood out every corner I turned. Seeing those bikes for the kids made me realize how important it is to be able to play like a kid…even under terrible circumstances. I wish I could have taken pictures of so much more. They had a great playroom and outdoor play area too. It felt like a play room and not a playroom in the middle of a hospital.
I love that kids can ride and play in the hospital!
A tiny piece of childhood not forgotten for them.
I loved that!
What an amazing thing to be a part of! I don’t think I would have made it out of that unit without turning into a heap of tears.
Thanks Kat! I had goosebumps so many times…seeing the smiles I saw in the playroom helped get me through some of the sadder units. The day I was there the cancer unit was very quiet. They made the video just a few days after I was there.
I LOVE the bikes and cars idea! What great way to lift the little ones spirits ( which they so much need and deserve. ) Keeping all the little fighter in my prayers.
Thanks Jamie…bringing a little bit of childhood to a place that normally wouldn’t allow it. I could vision kids riding their bikes and giggling.
My son went to Children’s 20 years ago and the care he received was phenomenal. They’re definitely a hospital with heart.
Absolutely! My husband was up there for awhile too when he was a kid. My MIL has stories of how great they were back then. These families are facing dark days but the hospital definitely tries to cheer them up.
What a fantastic post, and a beautiful hospital. My husband works for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital here in Little Rock, and it is just amazing how many lives these hospitals touch in such positive ways. The picture of the bikes and cars reminds me of when my own son spent time in the hospital as an infant and I entertained myself by watching the kiddos ride around.
I’m excited to follow along with your project!
Thanks Fawn! These hospitals treat these little ones so tenderly! Lots of medical care but even more is the love in how they do it. Seeing those bikes helped me envision it a bit better…knowing they have a little bit of normalcy in their lives.
My daughter was taken to Seattle Children’s when she was 3 months old and it was the scariest time in my life. The care she (and I) received was amazing, and I am forever grateful to the entire staff that stayed with us, supported me breastfeeding her, and followed up throughout the coming months. P.S. She’s now a happy, healthy (almost) four year old and you would never know that we saw more specialists her first year than we saw friends!
What a scary experience to have to go through. I am so glad your daughter is a happy, healthy little girl! You are a first hand #MiracleMom!
Children’s has taken such good care of both my kids when we’ve had to go there, whether a routine check up or an ER visit. I know they will continue to do great things.
You know it Kerri! Children’s hospital is amazing and so excited about #MiracleMom campaign. Getting the word out and the donations are such a small part of the entire program!
We spent so much time at Children’s when I was a kid – my baby brother had a defective heart valve, and we had to go every year and a half for him to have another surgery – until he got old enough to finally have open heart surgery, and get it replaced.
It’s filled with a lot of heartbreak – but at the same time, there is so much light and positivity. The staff is amazing, there are so many cool things there for the kids, and it all combines to make the best situation possible for kids going through such truing times. Great place to support!
You are so right Meagan…the hospital does a great job but there will be losses which are devastating…I can’t imagine the heartbreak some families have to face.
I am glad to hear your brother had great care during his childhood…what a scary experience to have to witness. Thanks for sharing your story! I hope your brother is happy and healthy now!
Children’s Hospital in St. Pete saved Gavyn’s life. You are doing amazing things Tammy. I wish I could help you with funds right now, but unfortunately with Zoe heading to Buffalo again for her urinary reflux procedure I can’t:( The video gave me goosebumps as well.
I think this is a great thing that you are participating in! I love the room designs and that there are play equipment for the patients to use to go around in and keep up their strength. I loved the video! It made a great talking point for the kids to learn that there are other kids who are not as healthy as they are. Thank you for sharing and I am sure you will be a great “Miracle Mom”
