#MiracleMoms From Beginning To End

I have been so blessed in being an important part of this years Children’s Miracle Network campaign.  As a #MiracleMom, I have been touched in so many ways.

My tour up at Seattle Children’s Hospital was eye opening.   When I was younger, our family friends had a little girl who spent several months up there.  My mom took my sister and I up to visit her.  Being so young, I never realized what Scott and Nancy were going through as parents, watching their little girl go through the medical treatments.

One of my friends in 8th grade was in a horrific accident on her farm.  (Her dad had been my 6th grade teacher.)  Cheryl had been asking to see two friends, me being one of them.  I was older and more aware of what was going on with her.  It was actually scary for me to see her in the rotating bed and seeing her broken body.  We had a good visit, but I will never ever forget that visit.  Cheryl’s accident put her in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.  I was proud to help her at our high school graduation, get her comfortable behind me.

These are just two stories that have touched my life when I was a kid.   A few years ago, I was on the leadership team at my local MOPS group.   One of our team members was pregnant with their 3rd child.  Little Hudson lived a short 5 months, his entire life was spent at Seattle Children’s Hospital.  Watching Natalie’s strength amazed me.   At Hudson’s funeral I bawled.  I put myself in Natalie’s place and honestly do not know how I could go through what they had just gone through.   I know our faith has kept her family going.

Three separate stories of kids in the fight of their lives while at Seattle Children’s Hospital.  When I toured the hospital, Kira explained most of the 250 beds were always full.  They are in Phase 1 of adding on to the hospital which will add another 80 beds!  It is so sad there is a need for more.

I shared the story of Allison and her fight while she was at SCH.  If you missed her story, you can read it here.

Many of you have probably seen this video on the internet of the Seattle Children’s Hospital  hemoncology floor.  It continues giving me goose bumps each time I watch it.  This song is my favorite…I think we all can learn from these kids about being “Stronger!”   Please take the time to watch this if you haven’t seen it yet.

As part of the #MiracleMoms campaign, I have pledged to raise $1,000.  I am just over 50%.  Please consider donating any amount you can!!  (Paypal is now accepted.)  Every penny counts and 100% goes directly to the Children’s Miracle Network.

A huge thank you to all my friends, family, readers and followers for your donations.  They will help so many kids!!  I would love for you to share this post on Facebook and Twitter with your readers and followers.  The more we spread the word, the more kids we can help.  This is a team effort and I thank you in advance!

Please continue your support of the Children’s Miracle Network!
