Weekend Wrap Up – Summer Is Here!

We just had a weekend full of sun and warm weather…it was wonderful! It was not as hot as some areas of the U.S…and I completely felt for those of you in those triple digits. Try and stay cool as it looks like the heat continues for awhile.

Friday, Brad and I headed out earlier than normal because we needed to pick up Emily from a sleepover. We decided to get our errands done and then head home so the kids could play with friends. While they were outside, I did some cleaning…fun, fun huh? After dinner we headed to Goodwill (of course we did). I was so excited to find a pair of Calvin Klein shorts (in my new size) and a weighted body pump stick for my favorite Body Pump class at the gym. These are hard to find and can be pricey…this one was only $12.99…I scored!

I had been looking forward to Saturday for a couple months. My good friends Kimberly and Deanna were planning on coming down to our house for a BBQ. Good friends, great food and beautiful weather = A FUN TIME! Kimberly and I worked together at Lerner NY. I was right out of college and held an Associate Manager position while she was one of our sales associates. A couple years later, I started a job at a paper company and a year later, she came to work in the same department I was in. We have been friends through both jobs and all these years later, we can pick up where we left off each and every time! Deanna also worked at the paper company and she is one of of the sweetest girls I know. It has been fun watching her kids grow up. She had Kyle and Kately while working at the paper company with us. Her kids are the most personable and polite kids I have ever met. I must admit, they do make me feel a little old, especially Kyle who just turned 17! Time goes by fast.

Scott woke up early on Sunday to start on the shed before it got too warm to work. I had plans helping a friend with a challenge party about an hour away from Olympia. While I was gone, Brad and Scott put up the pool so we are set for a week of nice weather! Emily starts Summer Hummer (a large scale VBS) Monday morning. Brad’s best friend will be staying with us tomorrow, so the plan is to go and see Spiderman, swim and just have fun!
