This weekend was a scorcher!
Summer has finally arrived here in the Northwest! Friday we woke to sunny skies and temps in the low 80′s. Emily finished up the VBS she was going to with her BF. Once she was home, the kids did a little swimming before Brad had to get ready for football practice. We ended up having to split up and each one of us go with one of the kids. Scott went with Brad and I went with Emily to her VBS BBQ.
When we woke up on Saturday, we knew it was going to be a hot one. The forecast was for 90. It isn’t that we can’t handle the heat up here but since we only see it a few times a year, no one is equipped with air conditioning. A few homes around us have it but the majority don’t.
I love to sit in the sun but when you can’t cool off, you just want to stay where it is the coolest. I ended up reading and watching the Olympics most of Saturday. We decided to go out to dinner and enjoy some AC at a restaurant. (We sound like wimps, don’t we? LOL)

How do you beat the heat? I would love to know if there are any tips you might have. Enjoy your week!

It sounds like the heat we have had all summer finally got to your part of the country.
It was really hot here too
We stayed in the pool!!
I’m in the South so air is a necessity down here. I often don’t even go outside on days like that!
I love the summer but I am not used to all of the ninety degree weather with high humidity that we have been having. It has zapped my energy!
We have a portable AC unit we setup in one room…usually our bedroom
It cools it down just a few degrees, but it helps. I’m not looking forward to the next few days…in the upper 80′s and near 90 by the weekend I think it said! I’ll be wherever the AC is or out in the driveway fighting with Scotty over prime sprinkler space! Stock up on ice cream/popsicles and stock up on ice too! We go through a crazy amount of ice cream and all that when it’s hot. I AM a wimp in the heat!
