Weekend Wrap Up – Movie, Wedding, and Football!

This weekend was the jump start to a very busy schedule!  Friday, I took the kids and two of their friends to see The Odd Life Of Timothy Green.  What a great movie…so touching!  It’s not often that I cry in a movie but this one was a tearjerker.

Scott’s cousin got married on Saturday evening so we headed up to Seattle late in the afternoon.  The wedding was in a campus church so we walked around before the wedding started.   The bride and groom were glowing.   We headed to the reception which was about 2 blocks from the church.  I loved everything about the wedding reception…assigned seating, family style dinner, individual wedding cakes at each table, the dancing and the photo booth.  We left Seattle a little after 9 and made it home by 11 p.m.  It was a late night for our family.

Sunday was Brad’s football jamboree.  He had to be their early so I dropped Scott and Brad off, came home and then went back over with Emily a little later.  We spent a small fortune on Capital Cougar gear (sweatshirts for 3 of us…Scott got a hat a few weeks back).   Brad’s team played 12 minutes of offense and 12 minutes of defense.   He played so well!  To say we were proud  of him was an understatement.

I HAD to do some grocery shopping once we were back home.   Having two growing kids…wow!  I see our food bill increasing already…Yikes!   Scott and Brad worked on draining the pool.  After dinner we started seeing raindrops, something we haven’t seen in a long time.   So the pool timing was good!

This week is crazily busy for us…there is something on the calendar every day.  Tomorrow, Emily and I will head back up to the Seattle area for a local blog event for Lee Jeans.  I am looking forward to seeing my blogging friends that live around here and meeting some new ones.

Be sure to check back again this week.  I have 3 new giveaways going up…and more are being added by the day.

Have a great week! :)

  1. The wedding sounds wonderful. I love the idea of a family style dinner.

    • It was so awesome. We had never been to a reception like that. The meal consisted of small cuts of steak, salmon, green beans and mac and cheese that the kids devoured (they won’t eat mine!). Such a fun concept…:)

  2. I knew that movie would be a tearjerker! I thought I’d see it in theaters, but I probably will wait for DVD.

  3. Oh, and all that football fun would be just that — fun!

    • I am loving watching him play football. My favorite sport to watch. I just don’t want him getting hurt…that is such a mom statement huh? :)

Yes, watch the movie at home. I would have sobbed a lot more and harder but didn’t want to embarrass the kids. Such a touching movie though.
