Figi’s Gift Baskets – Just In Time For The Holidays!

I don’t know about your family but mine loves quality cheese and tasty sausages! You can pretty much find these snacks at our house for every holiday. Add some bread or crackers and you have a mini meal. (Which is usually what happens to us…we fill up on all the cheese and sausage and then are too full for the main meal!)

Shortly before Thanksgiving, I was introduced to Figi’s. A company that has been around since 1944 and sells a huge variety of gift baskets and gourmet candy. We were sent a Pounders Gift Pack to enjoy. Brad was in heaven and asked when we were going to open everything. I explained it would be our appetizer for Thanksgiving and he was okay with that since it was only a day away.

It arrived in a tightly sealed box with a cooler inside keeping the products cold during shipping. Once I opened the cooler, I found the gift box and had to check it out.

FIVE POUNDS OF CHEESE BLOCKS AND SAUSAGES! We received a hearty Bavarian and Beef Summer Sausage along with a creamy Wisconsin Cheddar, Colby, and Brick Cheeses. All of it rich in flavor!

The boys decided to help me prep the goodies on Thanksgiving. I was a little unsure as I heard them talking about how they were going to put the plate together. (I might have a little control issue when it comes to plating food neatly.) I was pleasantly surprised when I looked in on them and found that Dad had done the cutting while Brad put together a “cheese and sausage turkey.”

We enjoyed the box full of goodies. The best part is we had some extra, so I have been making cheese and cracker dishes for the kids lunches and snacks.

Look For The Red Box!! Betty Crocker’s Mac and Cheese!

Betty Crocker has done it again! Look for her new red box of Mac and Cheese! Oooey, gooey, cheesy goodness! Seriously!

We made the NEW Mac and Cheese last week for a dinner side. I was impressed. You actually cook this one a little differently too. Dirty one pan…that’s it!

Everything goes into the pan all at once, you bring to a low boil for 12 minutes, stirring a few times. Let sit for a few minutes and then you enjoy this…

America’s Ultimate Cheeseburger” Contest By Sargento Giveaway CLOSED

I love a good cheeseburger!!! It is probably one of my guilty pleasures…I can pass the cake and ice cream but when it comes to a burger (WITH CHEESE!) I can’t say no! I am not alone, according to a recent survey, more than three in four Americans can’t imagine eating a burger without cheese.

Who better than to host an “American’s Ultimate Cheeseburger” Contest than Sargento? They know their cheese. A year ago we participated in a taste test comparison for cheeses. Sargento came out on top and to this day, we do not buy any other cheese. What’s even better is Sargento slices are always cut from 100 percent natural, never processed cheese, which rates pretty high on my scale!

Because cheeseburgers are such a summer-time favorite, Sargento conducted a survey that delves into what Americans’ crave most. When it comes to the juiciest summer staple, here are the savory survey findings:

Forty-four percent of Americans list Cheddar as their favorite natural cheese for burgers.
More than half of burger-lovers would forgo French fries to top their burger with cheese.
Across the board, “simple and classic” is the preferred burger style among Americans in the Midwest (41%), Northeast (40%) West (30%) and South (29%).

Sargento went to 5 top chefs across the United States. Chefs who work at iconic burger joints in New York (67 Burger), Miami (The Filling Station), Chicago (Butcher & the Burger), Milwaukee (Sobelman’s Pub & Grill) and San Diego (Crazee Burger). They were asked to create a cheeseburger recipe to showcase their city or state’s famous culinary flair. Each cheeseburger features at least one of the many delicious Sargento Sliced Cheese varieties, including Baby Swiss, Sharp Cheddar and Colby-Pepper Jack.

Have you ever eaten at any of these restaurants? These burgers they created are to die for…they look delicious! I went to the tab on the Sargento Facebook page and cast my vote for the Crazee Cheeseburger from San Diego, California…and no, I didn’t vote because it was the West Coast burger. Dad And The Kids Will Impress Mom This Mother’s Day – Easy Breakfast Recipe!

Okay Dad’s! Are you trying to figure out what to make mom for Mother’s Day breakfast? I have the easiest and most tasty dish ever! The best part is you can make it just the way “your mom” likes it. The kids can even get involved, it’s that easy!

If you can put ingredients into a mixing bowl, stir, pour into a casserole dish and bake…YOU CAN DO IT!! That’s all there is to it! Sound easy? Let’s get started!

Easy Egg Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

6 eggs, beaten
2-1/4 cups milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
4 bread slices, cubed
1 pound kielbasa (or substitute your choice of bacon, browned sausage, sausage crumbles, veggies sausage - the options are endless)
1 cup sharp cheese, shredded

Instructions

Add the eggs to a large mixing bowl and beat with a fork
Add the milk and dry mustard

Have the kids tear the bread into small pieces and add to mixing bowl

Slice meat into bite size pieces and add to the bowl

Add cheese and mix together

Spray 9x13 pan with non-stick spray
Pour egg mixture into pan
Bake for 60 minutes at 325 degrees

Make this the night before and refrigerate. Pop it in the oven in the morning while mom is still sleeping. She will wake to the smell of breakfast casserole. You and the kids will be a hit,I promise!
