Happy Feet Two DVD And Interactive App Giveaway – CLOSED

I haven’t had the chance to see Happy Feet Two yet.  Today we received our copy and the kids were thrilled.  They went to see the movie with their Nana and cousin.  They came back singing a bunch of the songs and talking a mile a minute about this and that.  I told Brad tonight I want to watch it this coming weekend with him.  He said “Mom, it is so good!”

On March 13th, Happy Feet Two will be available on Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, featuring a 3D hi-definition, a hi-definition, a standard definition and an UltraViolet digital copy of the theatrical film, Blu-ray Combo Pack, featuring a hi-definition, a standard definition and an UltraViolet digital copy of the film, and on single disc DVD with an UltraViolet digital copy of the film.

Here is the run down on what Happy Feet Two is all about:

Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem. His tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic and lacks the talent of all the other penguins. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven – a penguin who can fly! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model.

Things go from bad to worse for Mumble when the world is shaken by powerful forces. Erik learns of his father’s guts and grit as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures – from tiny Krills to giant Elephant Seals – to put things right.

Also available is a free “Happy Feet Two” Movie App for IOS 4.2 or higher compatible devices, including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.  The app synchs with the Blu-ray disc to provide enhanced content and interactive features. The “Happy Feet Two” Movie App is available through the Apple iTunes store.

We have not actually had the chance to play along with the app and the movie.  The movie arrived late this afternoon and the app took a bit longer than expected to download.  We will be experimenting with it this weekend.  I will put an update up on this review so you know how much fun the kids have with it.

A Thousand Words Giveaway ~ Ends March 9th!

Up until a few hours I had never heard of the new movie A Thousand Words.  After watching the trailer, I knew I had to share it.  It looks like such a good movie with an even greater message.

Eddie Murphy is Jack McCall, a fast-talking literary agent, who can close any deal, any time, any way.  He has set his sights on New Age guru Dr. Sinja (Cliff Curtis) for his own selfish purposes. But Dr. Sinja is on to him, and Jack’s life comes unglued after a magical Bodhi tree mysteriously appears in his backyard. With every word Jack speaks, a leaf falls from the tree and he realizes that when the last leaf falls, both he and the tree are toast. Words have never failed Jack McCall, but now he’s got to stop talking and conjure up some outrageous ways to communicate or he’s a goner.

How many of you read The Borrowers when you were younger?  I remember our third grade teacher, Mrs. Manier reading them to us.   It created my love of books of little people like The Littles,  Ralph S. Mouse,  Stewart Little and so many others.  I would dream as a kid of being little and what it would be like.

Disney/Pixar Will Release Another Favorite in 3D – FINDING NEMO!

On September 14th, 2012 Disney/Pixar will be releasing Finding Nemo in 3D!

I just watched this movie with the kids during the holidays.  My son is learning about Australia this year in school and he remembered that Finding Nemo takes place there.

I think my family would be in complete agreement that Dory is our favorite character…she cracks us up when she talks “whale”…I get the giggles every time!!

Beauty And The Beast AND Tangled Ever After In Theaters January 13th!

Only a few more days before Beauty and the Beast 3D arrives in theaters!  I can only imagine how great this movie will be in 3D.  My daughter is 11 years old and was probably two when they re-released the movie the first time.  Talk about a little girl in love with Belle.  We watched this movie over and over again.

I have seen Celine Dion in concert a couple of times…she is one of my all time favorites!  Celine won a Grammy (along with Peabo Bryson) for recording the title song…”Beauty and the Beast”…(I just sang that part in my head while I was writing it!)

I think it would make a fun “mother/daughter night” going to see it.  You can never be too old for Disney Princess movies right?

Last Christmas we went and saw Tangled.  I loved it!  I was the mom who had tears streaming down her face TWICE in the movie.  The kids kept looking over at me to make sure I was okay.  I didn’t know they were coming out with a Tangled Ever After short that will be shown before Beauty and the Beast.  I would love to see this too…:)  I know…call me a Disney mom!  I probably like the movies more than the kids do!

War Horse Is In Theaters Christmas Day…Only 2 Days Away!

I don’t know about you but I am excited about the movie War Horse coming to theaters on Christmas Day.   I have read so many great reviews from my blogging friends and they truly have me excited!!  Scott is on vacation next week so I am hoping we can sneak away for a couple hours to see this movie.   I was told to bring kleenex (but you need it in a good way, I’m told!).

Look What Disney Has In Store For Us In 2012

I have been a huge Disney fan since I was little.  My parents took us to every single Disney movie there was.  I have such great memories sitting in the back of our Pontiac watching movies at the Drive In.  Movies like Pete’s Dragon or The Apple Dumpling Gang…(I know I am probably aging myself with those two movies).  One of the theaters we would also go to was the D&R Theater in our small town.  It had the red velvet curtains, red carpet and swooping stairs to the upper level.  Gosh, that brings back some great memories.  The smell of popcorn teasing our noses as we would wait in line down the sidewalk to get in.  Now it’s my turn to share Disney’s magic with my kids.

I am looking forward to seeing these Disney movies that are lined up for 2012!

Speilberg Speaks Out About War Horse

Beginning Christmas day, you will find DreamWorks War Horse in theaters near you!  From everything I have received about the movie, it sounds like it is a touching film.

Recently Steven Speilberg sat down and answered some questions regarding the film and it’s making.

I am looking forward to watching this movie…in fact I really want to read the book also.  What about you?  Do you want to see the film?  Or have you read the book?  I would love to hear your thoughts!  War Horse is a young adult novel by Michael Morpurgo, first published in 1982.  If you are a teacher and would love to use this story in your classroom Scholastic has some great teacher lesson plans to use.  Click here if you would like to take a look…it would be great for homeschooling also!

The Muppets “Man or Muppet” Music Video

I plan on taking the kids to see The Muppets during Christmas Break.  They were so much fun to watch as a kid and I can’t wait to relive a little bit of my childhood…(from a l-o-n-g time ago…teehee!)  I want to introduce Emily and Brad to some of my favorite characters and I think they will love them!

This video is really cute…(I had no idea Jim Parsons played a part in the movie…love that guy from The Big Bang Theory!)  Take a look at the clip, it makes me want to see it all the more!
